UK Visa Application Centres Easter Closures in South India

The following UK Visa Application Centres are affected:
- Visa Application Centres in Hyderabad, Cochin and Bangalore will be closed from 31 March to 5 April 2010. You have until 30 March 2010 to submit your applications to VFS.
- The visa application centre in Chennai will also be closed from 1 April to 5 April 2010. You have until Wednesday 31 March to submit your application. UKBA in Chennai will also be closed from the 2 April to the 6 April; You should not expect to receive responses to email enquiries during this time.
The closures are due to the UK Border Agency implementing a new IT system in Chennai; This is part of a global programme for UKBA offices worldwide. You will be able to collect your passports from the visa application centres from 9am to 10am in the morning during the closure period.
UK visa application centres will be open again on Tuesday 6 April. You should also note that there are significant changes to the UK Tier 1 and Tier 2 visa categories from 6 April 2010. If you wish to come under the current immigration rules you should submit your application as soon as possible.
