The sectors based scheme for the food processing and hospitality sector was introduced on 30 May 2003 which allows young people to enter the UK for up to twelve months to do low skilled work. From 1 May 2004 nationals of the new EU Countries have been able to work freely in the UK subject only to the requirement in most cases that they apply under the Worker Registration Scheme.
